The current state of technology-enabled social innovation in Thailand

There aren’t many projects that work with the public to learn about their needs and how technology can help to meet those needs. According to the survey, users face two types of barriers: financial and technological.

What is the importance of this type of work to society

Technology-Enabled Social Innovation in Thailand is an important topic because it helps people to look into how technology can help impact the quality of life for people. Technology-enable social innovation is going a new way to find out what problem in occurring in Thailand and what need  with technology. With technological progress being so widespread, it’s important that research on this topic continues posthaste.

How can we promote these types of innovations, and what are some examples

There is a need for project to identify and promote technology-enable social innovation which is able to be use  the government and NGOs.

“Palliative care for children in rural Africa”

This innovation is  successful because it  help ease the burden on caregiver while also improving the quality of life for their children. The innovation also  allow this group to provide comfort and support, as well as relief from pain. It also give a sense of dignity to those who are suffering by giving them some independence.

Who is involved in promoting innovation?

  • Developers and designers
  • Entrepreneurs, both for-profit and non-profit organizations, etc., to help with funding the innovations
  • Educator and teacher in order to provide more opportunity for student who want to get involve in this type of work

What will be discussed at a conference on Technology-Enabled Social Innovation in Thailand coming up soon

The conference will be on April 26th and 27th in Bangkok, Thailand. The sponsor of UNICEF and the World Wide Web Foundation. Feature speaker like Michaela Kargbo, Director of Innovation; Narong Komolpisit, Program Development Officer at the Metta Center for Social Innovation; Shahid Kamal, Senior Vice President of Microsoft International for South Asia, Middle Africa and India; and Cynthia Bremser-Taylor, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Design Communication at University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign.

Technology-enable social innovation is  a new way to find out what problem  occurring in Thailand and what  met with technology.  With technological progress being so widespread, it’s important that research on this topic continues posthaste.
